This is the largest market hall in the city of Budapest. It is located very close to the centre, a reason for its other name, Central Market Hall. The assortment of different fruits, vegetables, meat, fish and other food related products are accessible on all 3 floors of the market.

It can get quite busy during the weekends, but if you want to live the true Hungarian market experience, that is the best time to visit.

This Market is divided into two parts, one is the traditional market itself inside the building, and the other is the farmers’ market outside in the open. Hunyadi Square Market might be smaller than other markets in the city, nonetheless, it is a nice place to by fresh ingredients. An added bonus is the park next to the market, where you can take a nice stroll or enjoy a snack or two after going through the market.

Located near the Hungarian Parliament, this 19^th century-built market hall is the perfect place that brings an authentic rural market experience to the city centre. On top of buying fresh food you have the opportunity to try out various Hungarian dishes at the market.

Szimpla Farmers’ Market is open every Sunday from 9 am to 2 pm. You can enjoy the homegrown products of almost 40 sellers there, that were chosen through a strict system. You can buy a number of different vegetables, fruits, cheese, meat and spices that are all chemical free and come from local manufacturers.

Apart from the food, you can enjoy numerous other interesting activities, such as, concerts, children’s programs, workshops, the ‘common cauldron’ and Sunday’s brunch.
